Today, banking services are heavily centralized with the Central Banksplaying an overarching role in framing policies. Further, with the advent of ‘Core Banking Services / Solutions (CBS)’, banking services to retail customers have become too centralized. Though, the ‘CBS’ services helps in providing efficient and improved services to clients along with easy accessibility to various banking services in a seamless way, there are risks to the overall credit supply in the market due to the size of the banking operations and the overarching centralization by the banks.
